1. It is never okay for a male to hit a female
2. If you strike out at someone, expect them to hit you back
3. 1 and 2 are always true
4. Sometimes it is necessary to hit back, regardless of gender. Necessary does not equal okay, just necessary.

How tolerant is too tolerant? If I strive to judge each person on their own merit, what does that say about me? Damn it, when does it get to be about me? Do I really have to be a needy bitch in order to register on people's radar? I know life isn't fair. I don't expect it to be. I've tended to gravitate toward people based on how they treat the people around them. I'm wondering if even that is a good measure.

I deliberately made the choice not to read my email today. I'm not upset, mad, tired or otherwise in a bad way. Yesterday, I found myself in a contemplative place after having "interesting" dreams overnight.

One of my emails came in today with the subject -

Remember, you don't have to be perfect to be appreciated.

Rugrat & I drove out to the mountains, hope your day is great.

One day on the river, followed by a day to recover. The water was ice cold, but the trip was much fun.

Well, it happened, the plane took off and flew her back to out parents. The last weekend was a full one, drive to the mountains on Thursday, "white water" rafting and drive back to Raleigh on Friday, short recovery period on Saturday, beach time followed by "a three hour tour" through Eastern North Carolina Sunday. She's been sent home with birthday presents for all the guys and a few extras. Where did the time go?
