I just found out the other night from my mom, that Claire's boyfriend was out to visit her over Easter. While he was there, she convinced him to go to the doctor for some issues he was having. Within a few days, he was in surgery for stage 2 cancer. From what I've been told, it could have been worse, it had spread to some of his lymph nodes, but not into his abdomen.

I haven't spoken to her, but this has got to be a huge ordeal for her (not to mention him). She's still in school full time and now he's going through chemo in Iowa, where she is his only support.

Hang tough girl!

Good - Had someone knock 5 years off my age...

Bad - In order to replace my water heater, I have to get a "designer" type.
Good - The special water heater is supposed to be super efficient.
Bad - Didn't find out about needing a special water heater until the guy came to install a regular one.
Good - The old one still works, it just isn't pretty

Kitty - Mya turned 2 yesterday. Pretty little girl, I need to put some new pictures of her up in the gallery.

I'm seriously considering going completely tech free this weekend. That may not seem that significant, but when I seriously started considering it, I realized that it has been YEARS since I've completely unplugged. What the heck did people do before the laptops, wireless internet and cell phones?

I made it back from my weekend without tech. I found all the cats alive and talkative. Now on to the next set of fun...

Amazing how much calmer things seem without a computer all weekend. I took a ton of pictures (which I haven't downloaded from the camera yet), sat in the sun, ate lunch on a picnic table and wandered around in the woods. All of which are rather hard to do when attached to a computer. I think it is time to seriously look at limiting how much time I interact via computer on my off hours.

Interacting with nature and real people is good =)
